Woodbury was established in 1683 by Henry Wood, a Quaker from Bury, England. It was incorporated on March 10, 1854.
- In the 1970’s Woodbury became the first city in the United States to mandate recycling.
- In 1898 Henry Morse founded New York Shipbuilding Company in Camden. At its peak during WWII, it employed over 40,000 people and was the largest, most productive shipyard in the world. By the time of its closing in 1967 it had produced over 670 naval and merchant vessels.
- The origin of the name Runnemede remains uncertain. Many doubt that the name originated from Runnymede, England, as no link has been found between the two, but there are other stories. One involves Revolutionary War General George Meade. The other, perhaps more popular one, is that a conductor nicknamed the local train station “rum we need” because of Teall’s Hotel, a watering hole in town.
LATEST SUGGESTIONS FOR EXIT 3
Runnemede suggests mead, so how about using honey or clove?

Exit 3 leads to the Black Horse Pike. There is a strong Irish presence in Camden and Gloucester County. Thus, an Irish Dry Stout known as BLACK HORSE STOUT would be the most apropos.

Bellmawr, Runnemede, Deptford, Almonesson, and Mt. Ephraim are the main towns closest to Exit 3.
These towns are made up of hard-working blue collar citizens who would like to come home to a refreshing and tasty beer. Why not try a concoction of Jersey Fresh blueberries and Meade?
Exits 2, 3, or 5 must involve some Jersey Fresh products to represent the farmers. Exit 3 is a definite candidate.
Sorry for the folks who believe the Pine Barrens should be involved somehow, but I would reserve that for Exit 5 (Mt. Holly, Eastampton, Pemberton, Burlington, Fort Dix) since it's made up of strictly the Pine Barrens.
